Margaret “Peg” Ellsworth

Margaret “Peg” Ellsworth, 85, of Cedar Falls, passed peacefully on November 3, 2026, surrounded by the family she fed, taught, and gently bossed for six decades.

Born in 1941 to Harold and June Whitfield, Peg married her high school sweetheart, Thomas, in 1963 and never once let him win at cribbage. She taught third grade at Lincoln Elementary for thirty-one years, and taught half the town to drive a stick shift.

She is survived by Thomas; her daughters Dana and Karen; four grandchildren who called her Gigi; and a kitchen that never once ran out of pie.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 14 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of the Pines, Willow Creek Funeral Home. Reception to follow at Fellowship Hall, casual dress welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a gift to Cedar Valley Hospice or the headstone fund.
