What we keep, and why.

Kindwillow runs memorial pages on behalf of funeral homes. The funeral home whose name is on the page is responsible for your information; Kindwillow holds it for them and follows their instructions and this notice. Last updated September 2026.

If you are a guest

When you open a page we set one cookie so your phone recognises itself: your RSVP, the things you offered to help with, and what you asked to hear about stay with your phone, not an account. If you give a name, a mobile number, or an email, we keep them with a record of when and where you gave them and what you asked for, so the family and the funeral home can reach you about this service only: a reminder the evening before, a note if something changes, a reply from the coordinator, a receipt. The funeral home may also invite you to leave a review some weeks later. Every text ends with STOP; every email has an unsubscribe link; both stop everything at once.

Memories and photos you add to the wall are shown to everyone with the link, with the name you typed. The family and the funeral home can take any of it down. Location sharing, when you turn it on, sends your position to the people you chose for the time you chose and is deleted when it ends.

If you are the family

Your funeral home invites you by a link to your phone. What you set up on your side (who approves things, which offers you accept, notes to guests) is stored with the service. Money given to your funds goes to a payout account in your name at Stripe, our payment provider; Stripe's own privacy notice covers what they collect for identity checks.

Payments

Card details never reach Kindwillow. Stripe processes every payment; we keep what you bought, when, for which service, and the name you asked the family to see. Financial records are kept for seven years as the law requires, with your name removed if you ask us to delete your data.

Who sees what

The funeral home sees who is coming and who left a way to be reached, for its own services only. Kindwillow staff see what is needed to run the service and fix problems. Our providers hold pieces of it on our behalf: Neon (database), Vercel (hosting and photos), Stripe (payments), Twilio (texts), Postmark (email), Clerk (funeral home sign-in). We do not sell your information and we do not advertise.

How long, and how to leave

A memorial page stays up as long as the funeral home keeps it. Positions from location sharing are deleted within a week. Your consent records and opt-outs are kept so we can prove them. You can delete everything tied to your phone at any time from Delete my data, or by writing to privacy@kindwillow.com; the funeral home can do the same for you. Residents of California and other places with privacy laws have the rights those laws give, and the same address is where to use them.
